Ram, 11, from Baydi village in Udaipur, suffers from polio was tied
to a tree outside his house by his father Hurma Ram, 35, before he
went out to work on his farm.
He
said: 'He had harmed himself in the past. To avoid any problems we
had to keep him tied.'
Jiva
Ram is now free, and been taken to a shelter home by representatives
of the Child Welfare Committee, the NGO Aasra Vikas Sansthan and the
Child Rights Department.
Bhojraj
Singh, the founder of Aasra Vikas Sansthan was shocked to find he
tied to a tree 'like an animal'.
