Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio - Spain,  has filed a criminal complaint before the Criminal Tribunal of the Plaza de Castilla in Madrid regarding felony for intentional injury that brings about a serious illness and/or any other illness that may appear througout the investigation.

The Spanish Administration (the Ministry of Health, among others), although knew about the existence of the Post-Polio Syndrome, kept silence about its existance, voluntarily, fully aware of the irreparable fisical and psychological damages, which would be caused to all Polio and Post-Polio Syndrome patients.

Its conduct was to deliberatly omit to divulge the existance of the Post-Polio Syndrome, councioussly allowing that all the people suffering it, people who are suffering it now and peopole who will suffer it in the future, suffered from terrible injuries.

The criminal complaint was admitted by the Court of Instruction, being appreciated indications of crime. After a lengthy process, in April of 2008, the Provincial Court of Madrid, It agreed the provisional dismissal and file of the present causes, mentioning the important historical information content of the complaint.

Lola Corrales - Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio. QUERELLA CRIMINAL

 
La Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio, presentó el 18 de diciembre de 2003, una querella criminal en los Juzgados de lo Penal de la Plaza de Castilla en Madrid (España), por delito de lesiones dolosas que causan una enfermedad grave y/o cualquier otro que pueda aparecer a lo largo de la investigación.

La Administración española (Ministerio de Sanidad y Consumo, entre otros), a pesar de que sabía y conocía la existencia del síndrome post-polio, silenció, la existencia del mismo, de forma voluntaria con plena consciencia y voluntad de los irreparables perjuicios, daños físicos y psíquicos que se les ocasionaría a todos los enfermos de Polio y de Síndrome Post-Polio.

Su actuación fue omitir deliberadamente la divulgación de la existencia del síndrome post-polio, permitiendo conscientemente que todas las personas que lo padeciesen, las que lo están padeciendo en estos momentos y las que lo padecerán en el futuro, fueran objeto de terribles lesiones.

La querella criminal fue admitida por el Juzgado de Instrucción , al apreciarse indicios de delito. Tras un largo proceso, en abril de 2008, la Audiencia Provincial de Madrid, acordó el sobreseimiento provisional y archivo de la presente causa, haciendo mención del importante contenido de información histórica de la querella.

Posteriormente varias personas de la Asociación, presentaron individualmente proceso contencioso-administrativo ante la Audiencia Nacional. En la actualidad el proceso se encuentra en el Tribunal Supremo.

LOLA CORRALES - OVIEDO - SÍNDROME POST-POLIO.

Lola Corrales, presidenta de la Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio, asistió el 5 de noviembre de 2003, a un Congreso de Discapacidad en Oviedo, que trató el Síndrome Post-Polio.

LOLA CORRALES - POST-POLIO SYNDROME AND POLIO

Lola Corrales was born in Madrid, Spain in August 1958. Lola suffered of polio at the age of 13 months, during an epidemic.

She was not vaccinated, because Franco's dictatorship (1939-1975) only used Salk anti polio vaccine for rich and friends of the Government, but not for the rest of the population. Besides, Franco's dictatorship was the opinion “Salk vaccine is not good, because cause polio”.

In autumn 1998, Lola Corrales knew through internet about the post-polio syndrome, since the Spanish Administration (the Ministry of Health, among others), although already knew the existence of the Post-Polio Syndrome, kept silence about it. Afterwards she worked one and a half year with a polio survivors group.

Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio was established by Lola Corrales and eight other polio survivors in February 2000. Since then, the Association has achieved national dimension and has changed the lives of many people with polio.

We have addressed several proposals to the Spanish Parliament, as well as several written questions to the Council and Commission of the EU. Furthermore interviews in television, radio and newspapers, all related to the polio and post-polio syndrome.

In December 2003, we have also filed a criminal complaint before the Criminal Court in Madrid, regarding felony for intentional injury that brings about the polio and post-polio syndrome, which was admitted by the Trial Court, having appreciated indications of crime. After a lengthy process, in April 2008, the Provincial Court of Madrid decided the provisional dismissal and file of the case, but mentioning the important historical information contained in the complaint.

Currently several members of the Association, have individually filed complaints before the National Court, Supreme Court, Constitutional Court and European Court of Human Rights. 

Since 2000, Lola Corrales is President of the Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio.

Lola Corrales, charla sobre el Síndrome Post-Polio en Huesca.

La Asociación de Discapacitados Oscenses Miguel Servet de Huesca, organiza una charla sobre el "Síndrome Post-polio", en el nuevo Centro de Apoyo Social de la ADO situado en la C/Aragon, nº 3 bajos de Huesca, el día 5 de junio de 2003 a las 19.00h.

Los ponentes que intervienen son: Lola Corrales, Presidenta de la Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio) y el Doctor José Luis Bru Martín (Especialista en Neurología).

LOLA CORRALES - SE CREA EN MADRID LA ASOCIACIÓN AFECTADOS DE POLIO Y SÍNDROME POST-POLIO

La Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio, nace en febrero de 2000, de las necesidades especificas del colectivo (tratamiento médico, laborales, eliminación de barreras arquitectónicas, ayudas técnicas, etc.) y de conocer por Internet, que los síntomas que padecemos tienen nombre y apellidos: SÍNDROME POST-POLIO.

Muchos de los miembros de la Asociación, trabajan en la difusión y recopilación de información del SÍNDROME POST-POLIO, desde Noviembre de 1998.

En las actividades de la Asociación se menciona especialmente:

Provocar el interés de las autoridades sanitarias, de la comunidad científica y médica para que se realicen investigaciones sobre las causas del SÍNDROME POST-POLIO y el mejor tratamiento posible.

También reclaman para los afectados de POLIO Y SÍNDROME POST-POLIO, que puedan ejercer libremente sus derechos fundamentales que recogen la Constitución española, la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos, y cualquier carta de derechos futura que ampare a las personas con Discapacidad y mejore su calidad de vida.

La Asociación no tiene ánimo de lucro, sus cargos no son retribuidos, no recibe subvenciones y desarrolla su trabajo con absoluta independencia económica y política.

Lola Corrales - Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio is created in Madrid

Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio - Spain, was born in February 2000, of the specific needs of the group (medical treatment, job, elimination of architectural barriers, technical aids, etc.) and to know on the Internet, that the symptoms that we suffer have a name and surname: POST-POLIO SYNDROME – PPS.

Members of the Association have been working on the dissemination and collection of information from the POST-POLIO SYNDROME - PPS, since November 1998.

The activities of the Association especially mention:

To provoke the interest of the Health authorities, of the scientific and medical community so that investigations are carried out on the causes of the POST-POLIO SYNDROME and the best possible treatment.

They also claim for those affected by POLIO AND POST-POLIO SYNDROME, that they can freely exercise their fundamental rights that are included in the Spanish Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and any future bill of rights that protects people with Disabilities and improves their quality of life.

The Association is not for profit, its positions are not remunerated, it receives no subsidies and develops its work with absolute economic and political independence.
